What to Expect
Treatment sessions are provided in a discrete & private treatment room where we will discuss in detail your current symptoms, medical history and goals for therapy. A comprehensive exam will then be performed looking at your overall movement as well as more specific tests such as looking at your breathing pattern. Next, we will see what tissues are tender around your abdomen, pelvis or anywhere else needed. Depending on your comfort level and specific challenges, an internal pelvic floor muscle examination may be performed looking more closely at the muscles inside the pelvis. We will look at how your muscles contract/relax , the tissue integrity and sensitivity of the muscles, and assess muscle endurance and strength. Please remember that while the internal assessment is valuable information it should not be a painful experience for you and does not have to be performed if you are not comfortable. Following the assessment we will create a treatment plan to reach your goals.
